Flipchart Trial

I tried a letter sort flipchart and the kids understood what to do, but the edit mode made it hard for them to work it. The letters would sometimes go behind the box, or the edit features would pop up while they were moving a letter. I would want to save this where they couldn't get to the edit mode.

I posted this yesterday to my CLASS blog!  Ugh!!!!

Free Space ~ Storia App

Storia on the iPads has replaced the tape recorder listening center.  It tracks the words and reads the story to the kids.  LOVE IT!!!  Pages with lightening bolts have extension activities if extra time.

Free Space ~ Using iPads

Kids are using iPads to record each other or themselves in the book nook.  Boys and girls read from  their "just right" bag of books.  They then record themselves telling the title of a book that they read, their favorite part, and why that part is their favorite.  They bring the iPad back to our class meeting and share the video with the class as their finished product.  They love it and I love it.

3 tutorials on youtube

I watched Imagemate, Hidden Word, and Containers. Hidden Words and Containers were my faves.  I could use both in many letter of the day activities
Containers is what I'll try first ~ I could use this for kids names that start with certain letters, for kids to sort.   They can sort letters that have tall sticks and letters that don't.  Can totally use this.

Experiment with BYOD for lesson

I did not have my kids officially have a byod yet, but did give a student my phone to take video of our class letter of the day book.  The kid LOVED being in charge, and I posted it to our daily blog.  I am thinking of adding this to our next round of special student of the day, so each kid will get a turn.  Still feel like I need a better plan of where byod is going before I have it in my room.

BYOD video

I like the idea, but beyond using the camera feature to take pics, I'm not sure of where to go with it.  I would love to hear how other k teachers are using it.

Daily Message Using Epson Tools

I watched Jean use her Epson Tools to do daily message with her class.  I plan to use this as well.  Kids LOVED to have her print it out and take it home.  I do need another lesson with her to be able to do this.
